6 Peninsular Campaign
истВоенная кампания северян в период Гражданской войны [ Civil War] (апрель-июль 1862), в ходе которой перед Потомакской армией [ Army of the Potomac] была поставлена задача продвинуться к столице Конфедерации [ Confederate States of America] г. English-Russian dictionary of regional studies > Peninsular Campaign

7 Shenandoah River
В ходе Гражданской войны [ Civil War] долина реки была местом многих сражений [ Shenandoah Valley Campaigns]English-Russian dictionary of regional studies > Shenandoah River

9 Jackson, Thomas Jonathan (Stonewall)
В чине генерал-майора командовал войсками южан в долине Шенандоа [ Shenandoah Valley Campaigns], блестяще проявил себя под Антиетамом [ Antietam, Battle of] и Фредериксбергом [ Fredericksburg, Battle of]. Бул-Ран [ Bull Run, Second Battle of] оттеснил северян к р. He has lost his left arm, but I have lost my right"]. В 1955 избран в национальную Галерею славы [ Hall of Fame]English-Russian dictionary of regional studies > Jackson, Thomas Jonathan (Stonewall)

10 Virginia
Вирджиния фактически стала основной ареной масштабных и кровопролитных сражений войны, в том числе битв при Бул-Ране [ Bull Run, First Battle of, Bull Run, Second Battle of], Питерсберге [Petersburg, Battles of], Фредериксберге [ Fredericksburg, Battle of], на Полуострове [ Peninsular Campaign] и в долине Шенандоа [ Shenandoah Valley Campaigns].
